Mae's Apple butter

 

4 cups of apples, peel and cored

3 cups of sugar

2 teaspoon of cinnamon

½ teaspoon of allspice

 

Chop the apples up into small pieces using a food processor

 

Mix all of the indigents in a crockpot and stir thoroughly.  Cook on high for 6 hours; reduce the heat to a low setting and cook for 6 more hours.

 

Place the canning lids into a boiling pan of hot water and let set.

 

Place 5-6 canning jars into the microwave for two minutes

 

While the canning jars are hot, spoon the apple butter in to the jars (~½ inch from top) and seal (close the lid tight).
